Preventing vehicle fires
Typically, fires are the result of simple fire safety violations, short circuits, fuel leakages, or someone smoking in the vehicle.
Drivers often underestimate the risk of fire. Some, when their vehicle is due for inspection, nip off to the nearest auto accessories seller and buy the cheapest fire extinguisher they can find. Others take an even simpler approach: they borrow a fire extinguisher from their neighbour for the inspection. Many people do not believe that when the time comes their fire extinguisher will be any help.
There is a grain of logic to this scepticism. It is true that not every fire extinguisher is suitable for a vehicle. Conventional fire extinguishers are too big to be kept in the driver’s compartment, as is recommended. Yes, by the way, the fire services strongly advise keeping the fire extinguisher in the driver’s compartment, right next to the driver, rather than in the boot, where it would be harder to get to.
On the other hand, smaller, miniature fire extinguishers are fine for putting out cigarettes, but totally unsuitable for a burning vehicle.

In this case, however, you will need to find 10 litres of water to make a 6% solution of the fire-extinguishing liquid. This solution will be 20 times as effective as ordinary water at extinguishing fires.
At around $100, a BONTEL ampoule might seem pricey, until one considers that, for example, foam extinguishers need replacing every 3-5 years, whereas the BONTEL comes with a 10-year warranty. A simple calculation shows that an ampoule costs just less than a buck a month.
To make the ampoules 100% reliable, they undergo two stages of treatment at the factory: thermal and laser. This leaves the ampoule free from even the tiniest crack. Tempering protects it against the cold and heat: the ampoule works even at extreme temperatures, from -50 to +70°C.
