Automatic fire suppression systems today

Fire safety today involves various methods that add up to a fire safety system. Such systems can be automatic, comprising equipment and devices that continuously monitor the temperature and smoke level in a room and, where necessary, contain and extinguish fires. Automatic fire suppression systems are comprised of separate fire extinguishing modules, with only those modules actuated that are actually required to effectively put out the fire. As a result, the rest of the area is not affected when the fire is being extinguished. The most common fire suppression systems are water-based. As the name implies, these use water as an extinguishing liquid. Naturally, before installing such systems a fire suppression plan should be drawn up, estimating the required number of modules and sensors, and where to put them for maximum efficiency. For water-based extinguishing, the plan should also include options for supplying water in the event of danger, and provision for spare water tanks. While performing their main role, automatic fire suppression systems send an alarm to the fire station’s control room. In addition, there are also stand-alone fire suppression systems. These do not depend on an external power supply, turn on automatically in the event of fire, and are very effective.

Water, however, is not as effective at putting out fires as special-purpose liquids. One such liquid is BONTEL fire extinguishing agent.
